Speeches

Here is the time line for speeches…

I need to sight your child’s completed draft (which we have been working on in class) by Monday 3rd of September. They may bring their draft book home over this weekend to do some final preparation before I see it on Monday and help them edit it.
They will then be required to publish their speech and put the key words from each paragraph onto cue cards. From there, they will be bringing their cue cards home to practice their speech until they know it off by heart.

The children will be presenting their speeches in Room 14 at the following times. If you would like to come in and watch their speech presentation you are more than welcome to.

Thursday 13th September – 11.30 – 12.40
Paris, Isabel, Matthew, Indi and Meike.

Monday 17th September – 11.30 – 12.40
Baile, Logan, Oskar, Ben and Sophie Hine.

Tuesday 18th September – 11.30 – 12.40
Georgina, Max, Corbin, Fraser and Olivia.

Wednesday 19th September – 11.30 – 12.40
Sophie N, Camilla, Caitlin, Nicole and Catherine.

Thursday 20th September – 11.30 – 12.40
Lachlan, Jamie, Ariana, Nathaniel and Lydia.

From these presentations I will be selecting ONE year 5 student and ONE year 6 student to go on to the Team 4 Speech finals.

These are going to be held on the last day of term – Friday 28th September 2012.
Year 5 speech finals will be in the hall from 10.30 – 11.30 and the Year 6 speech finals will be in the hall from 1.30 – 3.00.

We look forward to seeing you in class or at our team 4 finals at the end of the term!
